F2
Oven temperature is too high
  1. Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).
  2. For SELF CLEAN models: check door lock operation.
  3. Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit, not actual oven temperature.

Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on. Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

F2-
Note: Also see fan thermal switches
Indicates that oven is over temperature in one of the following modes within either a cooking or clean mode of operation.
· Control senses oven temperature above 650 degrees F with the door circuit in the unlock mode.
· Control senses oven temperature above 935 degrees F with the door in the locked mode.
· Stalled cooling fan or airflow problem.
· Look for welded relay contacts. (Heating elements on in off mode).
· Look for open thermal switch in lock motor circuit. Switch is normally closed and will open if area overheats due to fan not operating. Look for cause - fan thermal switch not closing, fan stalled, etc.
· Look for high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit due to high contact resistance (poor terminal crimp, deformed terminals, loose connection) or intermittent solder joint on control or intermittent oven temperature sensor.
· Look for electrical noise interference in the oven temperature sensor circuit (Ham radio, cordless phone, etc.).
F3 - F4
Open oven temperature sensor (circuit) (over 2700 ohms) or, shorted oven temperature sensor. Could be a result of:
· contamination on terminals
· pinched wire in oven temperature sensor circuit
· cold solder joint on control.
· Disconnect power to range and remove oven temperature sensor connector from control.
· Measure oven temperature sensor resistance at oven temperature sensor connector (take care not to damage terminals in block) - Should read 1100 ohms at room temperature (approx 72 degrees F).
· Measure each oven temperature sensor lead from connector block to ground. If shorted, look for pinched or cut wire in oven temperature sensor circuit.
· Check connector terminals - Look for deformed or corrosion on terminals. Repair or replace.

F5
Relay safety circuit failure · Check oven temperature sensor circuit for intermittent high resistance.
· Check lock circuit
· Press Clear/Off and reprogram control. If code reappears, replace control

Note: If all above check OK the F5 code can be a result of a momentary loss of power (Do NOT replace control or lock, check lock circuit)

FC
Problem with door lock circuit such as pinched wires between control and door lock switches on motorized lock circuits. Check wiring and test operation of switch
FD
Shorted meat probe

Note: Problem can be with the probe or receptacle or meat probe circuit.

· Check probe. Resistance should be 30k ohms to 50k ohms at room temperature.
· Look for pinched wire.
· Look for condensation or contamination of receptacle or nearby installation.

F0

* Here is a simple test that you can do to determine whether the clock or the touch pad are defective when the display reads F1:

- Disconnect power to the range.
- Gain access to the back of the ERC.
- Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire about 1-1/2" to 2" wide.
- Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on. Replace any covers removed to gain access to the ERC.
- Turn the power back on to the range.
- Watch for the F-1 and listen for the beep.
- If you get the F-1 and the beep, replace the ERC.
- If after approximately 60 minutes you do not get the F-1 fault, replace the touch pad.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock control as one part so F1 = bad clock control.

Warning: If you don not feel comfortable doing this test or making this repair please contact a qualified appliance technician.

Thermador
Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes starting with an E

If an error code appears in the cook mode window:
Your oven is equipped with an extremely reliable and accurate electronic control. On the rare occasion that something occurs that causes a malfunction, an error message will appear in the oven selector window.

Some errors (E1, E9, E11, and E13) must be cleared by turning off the oven at the circuit breaker and then turning it back on. When an error remains displayed steadily in the off position, after attempting to clear the error, a service call is required.

To help your service tech determine the problem, have the error code handy when you call for service.

Notes
A
Turns heat off on failed oven only, micro not affected
B
Turns all heat off, micro not affected
C
Disables clean mode in both ovens, allows cook and microwave
D
Error will remain in display until repaired and powered up. No error tones
E
1. Turn the clock selector knob to OFF
2. "Tweak" the oven control by turning the clock selector knob slightly to the left (counter clockwise). This may stop the flashing message/beeping and clear the display window.
F
Tweaking clears to "---" for retry
G
Clears when oven temp drops below runaway temp and selector is off
H
Can be cancelled by tweaking if a good oven temperature sensor is detected
I
Cleared with a mode change
J
Can be tweaked easily for retry. Unlatch and delete the "---" to try to re latch the door
K
Turns all heat and micro off
L
If two switches show locked door, then "E13" and "Lock" are permanent in display (all modes). If two switches show an open door you can tweak away the "E13"

Temperature runaway detected (Bake/Broil : 600-700 F; Clean: 930-1000 F) Sounds alarm and resets to non-cook mode. Check relay board for stuck contacts. Check oven temperature sensor for normal room temperature resistance (1085-1097 ohms at 75 F). Check sensor wiring connectors for a loose or high resistance connection. Check electronic range control (ERC) functions Replace the relay board if necessary. Replace oven temperature sensor if other components check normal. If failure repeats, replace electronic range control (also called clock or ERC)
F3

Check wires and connections between electronic range control (ERC) and oven temperature sensor Replace sensor if other components check normal. Replace ERC if fail code reoccurs
F4
Short circuit detected; oven temperature sensor. Check sensor for normal room temperature resistance (1085-1097 ohms at 75F). Check wires between electronic range control (ERC) and sensor. Replace sensor if other components check normal. Replace ERC if fail code reoccurs
F7
Function key shorted for over 16 seconds. Check for something pressing a key or preventing normal release of the key Replace electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) if other components check normal
F8
Internal logic failure; calibration. Alarm sounds and resets to non-cook mode. Check oven temperature sensor for normal room temperature resistance (1085-1097F at 75F). Check wires and connections between electronic range control (ERC) and oven temperature sensor Replace electronic range control (ERC) and oven temperature sensor if other components check normal.

Internal logic failure; door latch supervision. Alarm sounds and resets to non-cook mode. If door is locked due to clean temperatures, disconnect power until door can be unlocked Replace the electronic range control (also called clock or ERC)
Fd
Bake & Broil relay drives active simultaneously. Check relay board for damage: trace E6 to K2 & K3, and burned contacts K3 & K4 Replace electronic range control (ERC). Replace relay board if necessary
Blank display
No power to electronic range control (ERC). Check oven light and cook top dial lights (powered L2 & L1, respectively). Check relay board transformer primary, E1 to E2 (140 ohms typical). If the transformer internal fuse is still OK, check output voltages, pins 9-8 (3.2 v.a.c.) and 7-6 (21 v.a.c.). Check clock functions after replacing relay board If relay board transformer open (E1 to E2), replace relay board. If still no clock functions replace electronic range control (also called clock or ERC)
